My name is Kamiele...with a K!!!
All About Me
Hey Y’all!!! Okay…this is where you get to know ME! As listed, I am the wearer of many hats. Daughter. Sister. Apetebi. Visionary. As a visionary, an emotionally intelligent one at that, I am someone who possesses the rare ability to hold both depth and direction — to understand human emotion not only intellectually, but intuitively. This healing is not approached as a clinical transaction alone, but as a deeply human experience rooted in connection, awareness, and transformation. Emotional intelligence allows space for nuance, compassion, and authenticity, while vision creates the courage to imagine something greater: healthier relationships, deeper self-awareness, embodied healing, and a more aligned life. Healing is not only about surviving; it is about becoming.
Outside of the therapy space, I am a Chicagoan until Chicago wins!!! (Guess the rapper😎). I grew up on the SouthSide and proudly identify as an Englewood native…63rd Street to be exact.
I believe healing is deeply connected to justice. My work is rooted in advocacy, liberation, and the belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, autonomy, and access to compassionate care. I unapologetically support racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, mental health equity, and the dismantling of systems that perpetuate harm. I believe people deserve spaces where they can exist authentically, be treated with dignity, and heal without shame. My work exists at the intersection of healing, emotional intelligence, and social awareness — honoring both the inner world of the individual and the collective systems that shape our experiences. I believe emotionally healthy communities are built through empathy, accountability, equity, and courageous conversations. My vision is rooted in compassion and creating meaningful change that extends beyond the therapy space. Therapy, for me, is not only about individual healing — it is also about reclaiming power, voice, and humanity.
As a Lukumi Ifa Abetebi (Omo SHANGO!!!), Modern Medicine Mama, Hoodoo Rootworker, I honor the cross-section of mental health and spirituality, because…spiritual psychosis is REAL and all believers and practitioners do themselves a disservice by not protecting their minds and spirit as well. The work we do is valuable, more than we can ever imagine. The ability to practice and have a therapeutic space that aligns is the most revolutionary act I have ever embarked on. I am grateful to my Ancestors daily.

I only listen to rap or reggae in my car. Ain’t no church music, love songs, or podcasts. We got things to do and those are my soundtracks to life.
-
Anybody who has ever gone out to eat with me, knows that I am a coffee snob and foodie at heart. I always order a meal to go (and dessert) because I take care of my future self in the present.
-
Over the last two years, I have taken up surfing in El Salvador, as I also believe in Work/Life Integration…there is no balance. On any given day, life is going to tip our scales and that is something we need to accept.

Locs and tattoos are who I am. My hair represents my spiritual growth and commitment to embody my truest version of self. Tattoos are the way in which I honor my past and my present. My skin tells a story that my words can’t always conceptualize.
If you ever see me out, say What’s Up!!!
